When I have read and logged my books onto the 40 book challenge

My Learner Qualities Goal
Communicate - I chose this one because I never worked well in a group that are not my friends.
How am I going to achieve my goal?
List strategies that you can use to work towards achieving your goal.
Get on with it and do it.
Work with different people each time, not just with my friends.
Stay on task
How will I know when I have achieved my goal?
Once I have finished with the group.
Getting work completed on time.
Sharing ideas and learning with the other members of my group.

What is my learning goal?
WALT manage my time well so I complete all my “MUST Do” SML Tasks each week.
What has been going well? Completing my SMl’s in time.

What have I been learning to do to get the tasks done? To sit on my own and do it so I don’t get distracted.

My personal choice myth writing assignment because It was quite hard but I still finished it.
Which tasks have been challenging?  Why?
My reading assignment about the three parrots because you did not know what parrot was which. I found out that knowing the colours of their feathers helped me tell them apart.

Maths - Measurement

My goal was to read and explain everyday time problems.
I learnt how to tell the time.
  • Every number or dot shows 5 minutes
  • When the big hand is on the 3 it is 15 minutes past.
  • When the big hand is on the 6 it is 30 minutes past, which is the same as half past.
  • When the big hand is on the 9 it is 45 minutes past.
I learnt about measuring time - time relationships
  • 2 hours = 120 minutes
  • 1/4 hour = 15 minutes
  • 6 hours = 360 minutes
  • 1 hour = 3600 seconds
  • 1/2 hour = 1800 seconds 
I am feeling quite confident in telling the time. 

Term 2 Dance Program



We did a dance program for 2 weeks. At the end we had to perform what we had learnt in front of our parents. Its something I will not do again.

Iv'e learnt that dancing is hard to learn when you are practicing fast it is very hard to learn.
I have enjoyed missing out on learning and I am happy we are done.

Term 2 Writing



WALT write a moment in time.
         
     

  1. About to Hatch (Add 3 sentences for each sense)
I can see: A huge giant boulder slowly hatching with cracks all around it, the waves splashing and the wet sticky sand stuck on my feet
I can hear: The waves crashing over the boulders, the wind blowing the sand around
I can smell: Seagulls and dead seagulls, I can smell seaweed
I can feel: The tickle sand under my feet, the slimy wet seaweed under my feet
I can taste: Salty water splashing into my mouth, I can taste the salty slimy seaweed in my mouth from swimming

I can see a huge giant boulder slowly and slowly hatching with a bunch of cracks all around it, it looks like a baby dinosaur that is about to hatch. I can see the waves splashing and the wet sticky sand stuck on my feet.

I can hear the waves crashing over the boulders, the wind blowing the sand around and I can hear a lot of seagulls chirping and feeding their babies.

I can smell fishy seagulls and dead seagulls, I can smell the disgusting salty and fishy smell of the seaweed. I can smell gooey fish and the salty sea water.

I can feel the tickle sand underneath my feet, as well as the disgusting rotten salty seaweed underneath and the spiky nippers from the crabs that are pinching me owwwww.

I can taste the salty water splashing into my mouth, salty slimy rotten seaweed in my mouth from swimming and I think I have got a fish in my mouth EWWWWWWWW.

I am touching something like water
Myself through the mirror
I can hear:
A vibrating sound
Splashing water
I can smell:
Nothing because my nose is blocked from sneezing after breathing in all the dust.
A hole lot of dust
I can feel:
Slimy gel on the mirror
Freezing cold water moving around on the mirror
I can taste:
Particles of fluffy dust in my mouth
I can taste the lunch I had before

The girl kneels carefully in front of the mirror curios about what might happen…

She sees… herself in front of the mirror wondering why it is so clean. She thinks it would be covered in dust.

She can hear the creaky wooden floor as she is walking to the mirror. She can hear the rain outside and the curtains blowing all around.
She can smell a whole pile of dust floating through the air. Then she sniffs up a sneeze, a a a chu.

She can feel the freezing cold water on the mirror, when she touches it she feels a slimy gel. Then she touches it again and little waves of water start to appear, then start to vibrate.

She can taste particles of fluffy dust in her mouth. She can taste the sandwich that she had before.

Sarah is the only member of her family who sees what will happen to them in the future.
